Mental Health First Response
1-Day Workshop
Supporting people. Strengthening culture. Building confidence.
This practical, one-day workshop is designed for anyone who wants to better support colleagues experiencing challenges in their lives — whether that’s ongoing stress, anxiety, or a decline in wellbeing.
Mental health is simply about taking care of our minds in the same way we care for our physical health. And just like physical fitness, it benefits everyone.
Why This Matters
The need for confident, compassionate support in the workplace has never been greater:
1 in 4 adults in England experience a mental health problem each year
74% of UK adults have felt overwhelmed or unable to cope due to stress
Young adults (16–29) are most likely to experience depression (28%)
6,069 suicides were registered in England and Wales in 2023 — the highest rate since 1999
1 in 16 people experience Generalised Anxiety Disorder in any given week
These are not just statistics — they reflect colleagues, friends and people in our teams.
Why This Workshop
Many existing programmes focus heavily on diagnosing or understanding conditions.
What’s often missing is something simpler and more practical:
How to notice when someone is struggling
How to start the conversation
How to respond with confidence and care
This workshop was designed to fill that gap.
Developed in response to organisations wanting to build more supportive cultures, it equips people with the skills to handle real conversations — safely, sensitively, and effectively.
“This is the best mental health day I have been on.
It provides practical advice and guided experience on how to handle these important conversations whenever they arise.
I now feel ready to be there for others when it matters”
